HIH 300 - Sustainable Compassion Training This course will provide evidence-based, actionable tools for educators and professional caregivers to prevent burnout and renew energy. The course will use both conceptual and practical frameworks that integrate insights from the healing arts, eco-psychology, and contemporary neuroplasticity research as well as both current and ancient contemplative practices that expand perceptions and self-awareness. The course will center on the concept that compassion is the foundation for enhancing ethical sensitivity and sustaining high care for both the giver and the receiver. Students will learn how to cultivate a sense of deep replenishment through the study and practice of self-care modalities as a way of creating a sustainable lifestyle steeped in compassion for self and others.
