EDU 706 - Evidence-Based Design and Evaluation of Education Policies and Programs This course focuses on conducting evidence-based evaluation of education policy initiatives and programs, and on identifying principles for the development of national, state and local education policy. Students will be introduced to program evaluation theory, methods and practices. Students will consider education policy perspectives, examine evidence from state and local levels in education policy implementation, develop research questions and protocols for a current topic in state policy, and formulate policy proposals for an issue facing Maine PK-16 public education.
Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in the PhD in Public Policy with a Concentration in Educational Leadership and Policy Co-requisite(s): Credits: 6 (three each semester)
