PDS 610 - School Planning Institute: Strategy to Action

Better plans lead to better outcomes. This course is designed to meet the needs of school leaders, school leadership teams, team leaders and anyone who engages in developing plans for schools or other educational settings. The goal is to support course participants in the development of continuous improvement plans for education settings that are meaningful, equity-focused, evidence-based, actionable and measurable. In addition to developing an actual plan, participants will also develop skills and knowledge related to quality planning and continuous improvement processes. Course topics will include: strategic planning in educational organizations; evidence-based improvement and continuous improvement methods; active implementation; data for equity, action and impact; results-based accountability; and communication plans. Teams in charge of developing school plans can take this course together and expect to leave the course with a solid draft plan.
