EGN 182 - Engineering Tools: SolidWorks An introduction to SolidWorks and its use as a design tool for engineering. Students use hands-on labs to create three-dimensional solid models together with their orthographic views and convert them to computer design files. Students learn the basics of building parts, dimensioning, manufacturing drawings, assemblies, and assembly drawings. They learn best practices, essential parametric sketching techniques, and time-saving shortcuts for making three-dimensional parts and assemblies. Includes the CSWA certification exam. Lecture 1 hr., Lab 1 hr.
