SWO 270 - Human Behavior in the Social Environment I

This course presents a range of foundational sociological, psychological and social work theories to provide context for understanding human behavior in the social environment. The goals of this course are (1) to interpret human behavior within the context of interrelated systems that comprise the social environment; and (2) to develop a multi-faceted comprehension of both human commonality and difference. Critical analysis of oppressive structures and biases that disadvantage individuals, families, and communities is emphasized throughout the course.
