ANT 242 - Forensic Anthropology

An introduction to forensic anthropology, a subfield of biological anthropology. Following a brief overview of human osteology, students explore techniques used to identify skeletal remains, reconstruct trauma, and classify manner of death. These techniques include recovery, biological profile construction, and trauma assessment. Finally, major aspects of forensics, including expert witness testimony, human rights investigations, and ethics are addressed.
