NUR 270 - Intro to Professional Nursing, Leadership, and Ethics


The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the profession of nursing. A major focus of this course is for students to critically think about nursing profession, historical and theoretical frameworks, ethical principles, professional values, and standards of nursing practice including role of advocacy. Content and activities focus on enhancing students’ capabilities in the areas of writing and speaking, critical thinking, information technology and information literacy, teamwork, and self-assessment within the context of understanding the role of the professional nurse.
