EDU 558 - Content-Based Curriculum for English Language Learners

This course focuses on developing content-based curriculum to meet the diverse needs of English language learners (ELLs) of all ages and proficiency levels. Students will apply knowledge of second language acquisition and student-centered instruction to design language- and content-focused curriculum for ELLs through a content-based instruction (CBI) design aligned to relevant learning standards. Emphasis will be placed on curriculum, instruction, and assessment that supports ELLs’ academic language and literacy development as well as implementing technology effectively in lessons.
