TAH 311 - Event Management


Festivals, meetings, conferences and special events are an important part of the tourism sector. In this class students, through work on a real event, will learn how to plan and manage events, and explore ways of promoting and marketing events that respect local traditions and celebrate community assets. Students will also be introduced to various types of events including food and music festivals, sporting events, conferences and meetings, and celebratory events such as weddings and reunions. Students will be immersed in the work of event planning and meet real planners and promoters.
