MUE 351 - Teaching Improvisation in Music PK-12


Students will investigate improvisation in various styles of music and learn how its application can foster creativity in students of all grade levels. Pedagogical methods, materials and standards incorporating jazz and various styles will be reviewed and applied to the music classroom.

Prerequisite(s): MUE 310 .
Co-requisite(s): MUE 350  and a jazz ensemble (MUS 406  or 407 by audition).
