Honors Minor

The Honors Minor is an interdisciplinary pathway through the USM Core Curriculum and the major. Honors students typically fulfill Core Curriculum requirements with Honors versions of these courses (e.g. WRI 1, 2, and 3, CI, SCA, CE, QR, SE, etc.). To complete the Minor, students may choose from a menu of discipline-specific and interdisciplinary Honors course offerings including Honors seminars, Honors internships, Honors independent studies, Honors study abroad, Honors thesis, and Honors capstone.

Program Requirements


Honors Minor requirements include a mixture of required seminars and electives that fulfill University Core Requirements.

First-year students must complete 6 Honors courses (or 18 credits):

Transfer students (30+ transfer credits) must complete 4 Honors courses (or 12 credits):
