Mechanical Engineering Minor

The minor in mechanical engineering is designed for students majoring in other disciplines who desire an exposure to the theory and practice of mechanical engineering. The minimum number of credits (exclusive of prerequisites) for the minor is 16. An engineering faculty member will be assigned as an advisor to assist with scheduling and track student progress toward the minor.

Successful completion of the following mechanical engineering courses with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0:

Engineering Laboratory Experience


One credit of mechanical engineering laboratory experience not otherwise required in the major, either as a separate course or as an embedded laboratory component of a 4-credit course. Approved courses include:

Two courses with the MEE or EGN prefix, numbered 300 or above with 3 or more credits each that are not otherwise required in the major. EGN 394 Engineering Internship does not satisfy this requirement.
