Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician/Community (MHRT/C), Certificate of Graduate Study

The MHRT/community certificate program is offered within the Rehabilitation Counseling concentration and is especially suited for practitioners who work as case managers in the mental health system and desire training in psychiatric rehabilitation, and persons with prior graduate training who need flexible coursework to update their skills and knowledge in the psychiatric rehabilitation approach. This certificate meets all new competencies for the MHRT-C that were implemented in 2019.

Program Requirements

The five-course (15 credits) program described below leads to the MHRT/community certificate and can also lead to the state employment specialist certificate.

HCE 510 - Introduction to Rehabilitation Counseling and Services
HCE 514 - Principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation: Evidence-Based Practices and Treatment
HCE 611 - Medical and Psychological Aspects of Disability and Rehabilitation
HCE 612 - Multicultural Counseling: Social & Cultural Foundations of Helping Diverse Families
HCE 615 - Vocational Counseling and Placement in Rehabilitation
