Accelerated Graduate Pathway to Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering (UMaine)
|
|
This program provides students in the Electrical Engineering major at the University of Southern Maine (USM) the opportunity for favorable admissions and dual-enrollment opportunities with the University Maine Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering degree.
|
Program Requirements
In order to participate in the accelerated pathway, a USM ELE student must: -
Have completed the following courses by the end of junior year. -
Complete the internal departmental application to the Accelerated ELE option at the University of Maine in the fall or very early spring semester of 3rd year of study (deadline: February 15). -
If accepted to the Accelerated ELE option at UMaine, take up to 9 credits of 400/500 level USM ELE or EGN courses (3 credits of which MUST be at the 500-level). These will count toward both the BS and MS degrees. -
Complete and submit an application to the UMaine Graduate School Electrical Engineering program. -
Once admitted to the Master’s program, develop a program of study which includes all courses counted toward the MS degree. Get this program of study approved by the ECE Graduate Coordinator at UMaine. Up to 6 credits of additional ELE or EGN graduate courses (500-level) can be taken at USM toward the MS degree, provided that those 6 credits do not also count toward the USM BS degree. These may be taken by the student at USM either before or after earning the BS degree. |
