The Certificate of Graduate Study in Public and Nonprofit Management is designed to provide traditional students, working professionals, and volunteers with cutting edge knowledge, skills and techniques to respond to the managerial and leadership challenges in the nonprofit and public sectors.
The certificate is a stand-alone credential or the 12 credits may be transferred into the Master’s in Policy, Planning, and Management degree program upon admission. Students generally take one course per semester.
Applying for a certificate after matriculation into the MPPM program is not allowed without an advisor and department chair’s approval. Also, certificates cannot be awarded retroactively. What this means is that at the end of your MPPM degree, you cannot receive a certificate unless you’ve previously been admitted to the certificate program.
