Program Requirements
The minimum number of credits (exclusive of the University’s Core curriculum) required for the major: 36. A minimum grade of C or better is required in major/minor courses. Courses taken pass/fail must be approved by the Director. For students fulfilling the Capstone requirement with the Internship, the Women and Gender Studies major consists of 24 hours of required courses and 12 hours of Women and Gender Studies related courses. For students fulfilling the Capstone requirement with the Thesis, the Women and Gender Studies major consists of 27 hours of required courses (including 3 hours of independent study thesis prep) and 9 hours of Women and Gender Studies related courses. -

Students selecting the Internship option will complete 12 credit hours of WGS related courses -
Students selecting the Thesis option will complete 3 hours of independent study thesis prep and 9 hours of WGS related courses - Students may take no more than three electives from one department or program. No more than one course at the 100-level may be counted as an elective.
