Computer Science Accelerated Graduate Pathway (MS)

USM’s Accelerated Graduate Pathway (AGP) to the Computer Science Master’s program allows students to take graduate level courses during their final two years of undergraduate study. These courses allow undergraduate students to complete up to 15 graduate-level credits while completing their Bachelor’s degree and satisfy requirements in both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Program Requirements
To gain full admission to the Master’s in Computer Science program, a student must do all of the following: - Declare the BS Computer Science major.
- Complete three prerequisite courses:
- , , and with a grade of C- or higher.
- Apply to the MS Computer Science program in spring of their 2nd year (~60 earned credits).
- Complete at least one MS Computer Science course each semester of the 3rd and 4th years. Approved courses are listed below. Students cannot take more than 15 credits of 500-level COS courses while enrolled in the undergraduate portion of their program. Unless otherwise specified, each course listed below counts toward area C of the Computer Science, B.S. requirements. Students should take at least one course that satisfies a requirement in areas A or B.

- Satisfies a requirement in area A
- COS 560 - Computer Networks (3)
- COS 570 - Seminar: Advanced Topics in Computer Science (3)
- COS 572 - Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining (3)
- COS 574 - Numerical Analysis (3)
- COS 585 - Design and Analysis of Computing Algorithms (3)
- Satisfies a requirement in area A
- Matriculate into the Master’s in Science in Computer Science Program upon completion of the BS in Computer Science.
