SOJ 401 - Applied Social Justice: From Theory to Praxis SOJ 401 is an experiential, community-based course that bridges theory and practice. Students collaborate with local organizations to address pressing social issues through applied projects grounded in justice, equity, and inclusion. In partnership with community leaders, students design and implement initiatives that address real-world needs while reflecting critically on their own roles, privileges, and positionalities. Through readings, discussions, and reflective writing, students connect academic frameworks to civic engagement. The course culminates in a public presentation of each student’s project, demonstrating how scholarly inquiry and community action intersect to create social change.
Prerequisite(s): SOJ 101 and at least 6-credit hours of approved SOJ minor elective courses. Co-requisite(s): Credits: 3
