Event Planning and Management Certificate

The Certificate in Event Planning and Management (CEPM) provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the field of event planning, with specific courses tailored to individual student needs and interests. Students may select from a range of electives related to event planning and management. Coursework will be capped by a professional experience that allows students to apply their knowledge within a business or organization environment, helping to plan, manage, and promote actual events.

Tourism & Hospitality classes are offered either online or hyflex.

Program Requirements


Completion of 12 credits as described below with a grade of C- or better in each course. As part of at least one of their courses in the certificate, students must complete a project that involves original research, service learning, and/or professional experience directly related to the certificate. The advisor will assist the student with selection of a project that meets the student’s personal goals and interests. There is no particular sequencing of courses as long as course prerequisites are satisfied. Waiver of prerequisites will be done on a case-by-case basis.
