Nursing, Accelerated Program, B.S.

The faculty of the School of Nursing recognizes the desire of people with baccalaureate and higher degrees in disciplines other than nursing to become nurses and has designed an accelerated program that leads to a B.S. in nursing in 15 months of full-time study. Students enrolled in this program build their undergraduate nursing courses upon previous academic and life experiences. Graduates of this program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Program Requirements


Total number of credits required for the major: 66.5

Students admitted to this program must hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university or college. Admitted students will have successfully completed college-level courses in Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology I (lab not required) and Anatomy and Physiology II (lab not required), as well as Microbiology with lab; with grades of C or higher prior to the May start of the program.

  • Minimum number of credits (exclusive of the University’s Core Curriculum) required for the Nursing, Accelerated Program major: 66.5. 

  • Minimum grade requirement for major courses listed below: C+.

  • Minimum GPA requirement for major courses listed below: 2.75.
