Wabanaki Languages Certificate

The certificate in Wabanaki Languages is intended for students who are interested in Wabanaki languages, their linguistic structure, and their revitalization.

Note: Students who have already completed the Wabanaki Languages minor need two additional courses from the list below to fulfill the requirements for the certificate.

Total number of credits required for the certificate: 22-23

Required Courses:

LIN 130 - Language Revitalization and Reclamation Methodologies Credits: 3
or
WAB 180 - Wabanaki Language Reclamation Methodologies Credits: 3
Four Wabanaki languages courses at any level Credits: 16

Choose one of the following courses:

LIN 185 - Language, Mind, and Society: An Introduction to Linguistics Credits: 3
LIN 311 - Phonetics Credits: 3
LIN 312 - Phonology and Morphology Credits: 3
LIN 130 - Language Revitalization and Reclamation Methodologies Credits: 3
or
WAB 180 - Wabanaki Language Reclamation Methodologies Credits: 3 (whichever course was not chosen from the required course list)
