Mechanical Engineering Accelerated Graduate Pathway (MS at University of Maine)

This program provides students in the Mechanical Engineering major at the University of Southern Maine (USM) the opportunity for favorable admissions and dual-enrollment opportunities with the University of Maine’s Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree.

Program Requirements
In order to participate in the accelerated pathway, a USM MEE student must: -
Complete the following courses by the end of junior year. -
Complete the internal departmental application to the Accelerated MEE option at the University of Maine in the fall or very early spring semester of 3rd year of study (deadline: February 15). -
If accepted to the Accelerated MEE option at UMaine, take up to 9 credits of 400/500 level USM MEE or EGN courses (3 credits of which MUST be at the 500-level). These credits will count toward both the BS and MS degrees. -
Complete and submit an application to the UMaine Graduate School Mechanical Engineering program. -
Once admitted to the Master’s program, develop a program of study that includes all courses counted toward the MS degree and that must be approved by the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Coordinator at UMaine. |
