BIO 506 - Animal Behavior Laboratory

This laboratory course complements the study of animal behavior by providing hands-on experience with methods used to observe, record, and analyze the behavior of animals. Students will learn techniques for quantifying behavioral patterns in both vertebrate and invertebrate species, including approaches for studying communication, foraging, mating systems, and social interactions. Emphasis is placed on experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results within ecological and evolutionary contexts.

Prerequisite(s): Grade of C- or higher or concurrent enrollment in BIO 405 or BIO 505 or permission of instructor.
