CHY 251 - Organic Chemistry I

An intensive treatment of organic chemistry. Topics include: nomenclature; structure and stereochemistry; reaction types: substitution, addition, and elimination; reaction mechanisms and factors influencing them; spectroscopic techniques of structure determination (nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet-visible, and infrared).

Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or higher in CHY 115.
