The biology program provides a rigorous and exciting education for students interested in pursuing STEM careers or graduate school. Coursework spans subdisciplines of biology exploring life from the molecular to the ecosystem level. Students complete foundational course work before investigating specialized topics in organismal biology, ecology, and cellular and functional biology. The curriculum includes immersive laboratory experiences and opportunities for field work and internships. Students have opportunities to engage in research projects mentored by faculty within the department and to intern with companies and organizations in the greater Portland area and throughout the state.
